摘要: This article illustrates the two different roles played by stacking faults in solid state transformations viz. (i) accommodating part of transformation strains as observed noble metal-based alloys undergoing martensitic transformations, and (ii) providing a mechanism for changing sequence layers variety materials like SiC, ZnS, Co its alloys, certain steels. Diffraction patterns taken from phases noble-metal-based well SiC ZnS crystals one close-packed modification to another reveal presence characteristic diffuse streaks. It is shown that theoretical analysis intensity distribution along streaked reciprocal lattice rows terms physically plausible models geometry faults, can make choice between various possible routes transformation. From simple computer simulation studies, it arrest essentially due insertion random space time leading an irregular solitons.
