摘要: Abstract Ethanol and acetone were extracted from aqueous feed streams (10 wt.% solute) at ambient temperature using compressed propane (34.5 bar) CO 2 (69 bar) in a polypropylene hollow fiber membrane contactor (HFC). Overall mass transfer coefficients determined related to tubeside, membrane, shellside by varying the velocity (0.6–11.8 cm/s) molar solvent ratio (1 3) countercurrent flow. The overall coefficient for ethanol extraction with ranged 3.8×10 −4 1.1×10 −2 1.7×10 −3 cm/s, respectively. For , 5.1×10 1.4×10 cm/s 4.1×10 9.5×10 extraction. Experimentally compared values predicted existing correlations HFC non-pressurized solvents. Enhanced is observed solvents relative both conventional liquid column . Our results demonstrate applicability of hydrocarbons HFC-based processes, ability analyze solvent-based techniques.
