摘要: We examine the stretching behavior of rubber-plastic composites composed a layer styrene-ethylene/propylene-styrene (SEPS) rubber, bonded to linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plastic. Dog-bone shaped samples plastic, and bilayers with rubber : plastic thickness ratio in range 1.2-9 were subjected uniaxial tension tests. The degree inhomogeneity deformation was quantified by digital image correlation analysis video recordings these In tension, SEPS showed homogeneous deformation, whereas LLDPE necking followed stable drawing owing its elastoplastic post-yield strain hardening. Bilayer laminates intermediate between plastic reducing as increased. A simple model developed which force bilayer taken sum forces rubber layers measured independently. By applying mechanical energy balance this model, changes could be predicted qualitatively.
