摘要: Abstract Objectives: It is generally believed that lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) levels remain relatively constant in the same individual, but there a paucity of data to substantiate this belief. This study was undertaken determine extent intra-individual variation Lp(a) over 12-month period. Design and Methods: measured monthly duplicate period 11 females males who were healthy, free-living, normal subjects by Incstar Immunoprecipitin method using goat antibody which monospecific for Lp(a). Results: Some showed considerable month-to-month variations not correlated with changes other lipid parameters or weight. Others fairly levels, few values quite different from rest. attributable methodological factors; low high controls gave mean (mg/L), SD CV 181, 8.6, 4.7 431, 14, 3.3, respectively. The difference between minimum maximum individuals ranged 14 mg/L one subject 229 another one-year Conclusions: greater than commonly believed. therefore recommended should be sequentially weeks arrive at value assessing risk coronary heart disease.
