摘要: Tundra soil carbon stores ranged from a low of 16 kg C m-3 for northern foothills ridge top site to high 94 Barrow coastal plain tundra. Relatively were found in riparian shrubland, barren mountain slope, and alpine slope soils (3, 4 10 m-3, respectively). Coastal tundra averaged 62 44 respectively. Active layer permafrost partitioning varied, but when the (to 1 m) considered along with those active layer, store estimates are nearly doubled. Cryoturbation played key role distribution stocks. Carbon over pattern cycle three polygon types be similar (59-60 m-3). However, thaw lake basin widely 64 m-3. In foothills, increased down-slope positions, or stayed constant midslope watertrack positions. On average, largest Cf, Oa, Bg/Oa genetic horizons average m 15, 13, 13 m-2, Kuparuk River drainage calculated pedon (1 only, results 2.5 1.4 times higher, respectively, than if generalized literature used calculation. The this study indicate that Arctic terrestrial pool size have been recently could by factor 2 more lower horizon ignored.
