摘要: Aims To examine the comparability, reliability and predictive validity of two instruments used to assess alcohol use dependence: Global Appraisal Individual Needs (GAIN) Form 90 Timeline Followback (TLFB) method. Design, setting participants Adolescents (n = 101) admitted a residential treatment program in United States were interviewed at intake with GAIN, again within week variation TLFB, called 90. Alcohol cannabis measures compared predict number past-month substance abuse dependence symptoms. Measurement Self-report days 90 days prior intake, peak drinks/joints used, blood content (BAC) symptom counts. Findings Results revealed that had: (a) excellent comparability (r = 0.7–0.8) across instruments; (b) deteriorating after reported BAC levels exceeded 0.50 joints exceeding 19; (c) similar strong relationships between abuse/dependence symptoms instruments. Conclusions In sample 101 adolescents who for or drug dependence, corresponding from produced comparable results. If cross-validation these generalizes treated out-patient settings other adolescent populations, GAIN may provide useful core meta-analyses.
