摘要: 18-F-fluoro-D-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG PET) has become an established imaging tool in clinical oncology, cardiology and neurology is now entering the field of infectious diseases. The purpose this article to review currently available, albeit limited, literature on FDG PET diagnosis various infections fever unknown origin. Those indications for which offers added value over more available techniques like labelled leucocyte scanning, gallium scanning magnetic resonance are especially highlighted. seems have incremental assessment chronic osteomyelitis, axial skeleton, as well diagnostic workup origin HIV complications. Cost-effectiveness studies needed define its place current strategies these pathologies.
