摘要: The Mediterranean and Black Seas are semi-enclosed basins characterized by high environmental variability growing anthropogenic pressure. This has led to an increasing need for a bioregionalization of the oceanic environment at local regional scales that can be used managerial applications as geographical reference. We aim identify biogeochemical subprovinces within this domain, develop synthetic indices key oceanographic dynamics each subprovince quantify baselines from which assess change. To do this, we compile data set 101 months (2002–2010) variety both ‘‘classical’’ (i.e., sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a, bathymetry) ‘‘mesoscale’’ eddy kinetic energy, finite-size Lyapunov exponents, frontal gradients) ocean features use characterize variability. employ k-means clustering algorithm objectively define based on classical features, and, first time, mesoscale combination features. Principal components analysis is then performed variables integrative monitor changes resultant monthly resolutions. Using find five Seas.
