摘要: Abstract This work examines the possibility of splitting an uncontrolled “X” intersection into two adjacent “T” intersections. aims to improve both movement and safety traffic. The problem addressed in this is how determine optimal distance between T best type split, based on previous studies, one which vehicles approach first right turn then left directions travel. main conclusions drawn refer preferred type. arrived at basis objective function minimal delay subject blocking queues, passing (another vehicle) probabilities, budget limitations threshold. input data consist 12 traffic volumes associated with all movements X intersection. findings are: (a) under a medium level volume, queue lengths are order hundreds meters very sensitive increase volume toward beyond saturation flow; (b) probability along road segment intersections increases length stabilizes few hundred meters; (c) there relationship accident frequency (accident rate density) split An example introduced; (d) found not only theoretically, but also practically for possible implementations.
