Effects of a Randomized Intervention to Improve Workplace Social Capital in Community Health Centers in China

摘要: OBJECTIVE To examine whether workplace social capital improved after implementing a intervention in community health centers China. METHODS This study was conducted 20 of similar size Jinan China during 2012-2013. Using the stratified site randomization, 10 were randomized into group; one center excluded due to leadership change final analyses. The baseline survey including 447 staff (response rate: 93.1%) 2012, and followed by six-month intervention, team building courses for directors centers, voluntarily public services, group psychological consultation, outdoor training. follow-up July 2013 responded 390 members 86.9%). Workplace assessed with translated culturally adapted scale, divided vertical horizontal dimensions. facility-level effects based on all (n = 427) (n = 377) respondents, except Weibei respondents. We bivariate Difference-in-Difference analysis estimate effects. RESULTS No statistically significant observed at level; increased capital, its dimensions 1.0 (p = 0.24), 0.4 (p = 0.46) 0.8 (p = 0.16), respectively. CONCLUSIONS comprehensive seemed slightly improve urban level. High attrition rate limits any causal interpretation results. Further studies are warranted test these findings.
