摘要: Women with drinking problems are less likely than men to utilize alcohol-specific treatment services; they comparatively more seek help in general health and mental care settings. These patterns service utilization may be attributable, part, gender differences barriers or disincentives seeking receiving for alcohol abuse. In this paper we provide a gender-focused review of research on help-seeking addictions behavior change. Two major categories barrier, involving client program characteristics, appear have greater impact women men. Insights gained from literature valuable direction future suggest applications clinical provision planning.
