摘要: The letter to the editor by Carol Brotherton raises question of interaction among insoluble fiber (specifically cellulose and wheat bran), microbiome, human disease. We agree that this is an interesting poorly understood area worthy review appreciate her comments. However, author misstates components our review, as well literature she cites. Our only mention definition fermentable carbohydrates can produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) (emphasis added):
