摘要: Abstract Tatrot and Pinjor mammalian faunas are well known from the Chandigarh Jammu regions of India. The Formation type area in region has been dated by magnetostratigraphy ranges 2.48 to 0.63 Ma. pre-Pinjor beds Upper Siwalik Subgroup referred as Saketi characterized presence Fauna. These exposed Formation. Mammalian Fauna marks end record vertebrate faunal succession since overlying Boulder Conglomerate Formation, youngest formation Group, is devoid fossils. About 49 taxa restricted differentiated 30 taxa. In region, Nagrota contains both faunas; however not developed compared those region. extinction or migration began near Olduvai subchron (i.e. Neogene\Quaternary boundary). However, Parmandal-Utterbeni (Jammu) Patiali Rao (Chandigarh) sections, fauna survived after subchron, various sections age 1.72 0.6 Ma. Near last phase Himalayan orogeny was marked initial deposition probably one reasons for gradual Two biostratigraphic interval-zones, Elephas planifrons Interval-Zone (3.6–2.6 Ma) Equus sivalensis (2.6–0.6 Ma) also recognized on basis fossils magnetostratigraphy. Twenty-five made their first appearance older zone whereas forty-eight younger zone.
