A parameterized region-growing programme for site allocation on raster suitability maps

摘要: In assigning suitability scores to individual cells maps do not solve the question of optimally locating regions a particular size, shape and orientation. This paper describes parameterized region-growing (PRG) programme for sites with spatial characteristics on raster maps. PRG is an heuristic which trades off underlying cell region locate near optimal regions. The boundary configuration, elongation orientation ideal are specified by set parameters control growing programme. Two simulations show how can wildlife reserves different characteristics.
