摘要: Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition affecting over 18 million people worldwide. It can lead to debilitating complications and premature death if not effectively controlled. South Africa, like any sub-Saharan countries the world at large, no exception. The prevalence of diabetes among African adults has increased by 50% from 2009 date, an increase some 11 new diagnoses expected year 2020. Purpose: purpose this study was describe beliefs management practices patients with DM in Vhembe district, Limpopo province. Setting: conducted district clinics. Methods: A probability, purposive sampling used sample 100 diabetic patients. Data were collected using pre-tested questionnaire. analysed Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 19.0. Descriptive statistics, frequencies, percentages summarise data study. Results: majority respondents had poor practice feet care annual eye examinations. Twenty four (24.0%) believed that be cured 22 (22.0%) did believe diet helps DM. Conclusion: belief curable have negative effect as quit taking treatment once disease under control. This happens irrespective national guidelines Therefore, strategies should sought could enhance implementation order combat disease.
