摘要: This chapter summarizes the experiences of Czech Hygiene Service from mid-1970s until present time, using cytogenetic analysis as a biomarker exposure. During this period, method has proved its ability to detect an occupational hazard. We observed significant association between increased frequency aberrant cells and exposure carcinogens mutagens at group level. Examples exposures are given chemical industry [bis(chloromethyl) ether, epichlorohydrin, vinyl chloride monomer, acrylonitrile, 1,3-butadiene, ethylbenzene], mining (ore mining, soft coal open-cast uranium mining), health care (cytostatics, halothane, microbiology). The interpretation findings in context is discussed. results were used enforce decrease working environment establish safer maximum allowable concentrations. exceptionally broad use Republic was facilitated by fact that accepted theoretical assumption lymphocytes surrogate indicator for genetic damage caused clastogens target tissues. As exposure, wrote great history public many cases played crucial role improving conditions Republic.
