Computational study of collisional energy transfer and quasi-continuous population inversions in laser-pumped Ca vapor

摘要: A computational study of population inversion between several pairs excited states viz 3d4p3F-4s3d3D, 4s5s3S-4s4p3P and 4s3d3D-4s4p3P in Ca vapor pumped on the 4s2 1S0-4s4p3P1 transition is presented. The main aim to investigate influence various atomic processes creating sustaining for long times after excitation pulse. delicate interplay superelastic energy transfer free electrons, pooling collisions cascaded recombination particulary examined. It noted that quasi-continuous can be readily transitions; under some conditions, also transitions. Furthermore, 3d4p3F-4s3d3D transitions a considerable length time. results may useful designing developing quasi-cw metal lasers.
