摘要: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a guinea pig model experimental airborne tuberculosis for its ability assess chemotherapeutic regimens their efficacy against virulent tubercle bacilli in vivo during the initial phase treatment. tissues examined included primary lung lesions metastatic foci spleen which result from naturally occurring bacillaemia. treatments examined, INH + RIF, EMB, EMB were initiated 4 weeks after infection continued 8 weeks. Although minor differences observed time onset significant bactericidal effect or rate decline microbial population, all three treatment combinations resulted reduction number M. H37Rv recovered lesions, lesion-free lobes spleen. X-rays taken excised inflated showed relationship between degree calcification surviving bacilli.
