摘要: During laser keyhole welding of thin plates, the melt pool is relatively wide compared to plate thickness. Under certain conditions, an elongated can be created and a permanent hole sometimes left in weld seam. The generation such holes determined by surface tension effects which generate self-sustaining geometry at rear pool. shape known as catenoid has clear geometrical limits.
