摘要: This article studies the impact of differences in citation practices at subfield, or Web Science subject category level, using model introduced Crespo, Li, and Ruiz-Castillo 2013a, according to which number citations received by an depends on its underlying scientific influence field it belongs. We use same Thomson Reuters data set about 4.4 million articles used Crespo etal. 2013a analyze 22 broad fields. The main results are following: First, when classification system goes from fields 219 subfields effect inequality increases ~14% level 18% subfield level. Second, we estimate a exchange rates ERs over wide [660, 978] quantile interval express counts into equivalent all-sciences case. In fractional case, for example, find that 187 reliable sense coefficient variation is smaller than equal 0.10. Third, case normalization raw mean as factors reduces importance 3.8% 3.4% overall inequality. Fourth, essentially replicated adopt multiplicative approach.
