摘要: The study was conducted to examine the determinants of technical efficiency maize/cowpea intercropping among women farmers in Gombe State, Nigeria. A multistage sampling technique adopted selecting 104 respondents. Data were collected using a well-structured questionnaire supplemented with focus group discussion over period four months. analyzed descriptive statistics and stochastic frontier production function model. Results from socio-economic variables revealed that majority (61%) respondents between 40-59 years an average farm size 1.88 hectares. result analysis showed all estimated coefficients (farm size, fertilizer, family labour, quantity agrochemicals, hired labour seed used) independent model positive significant at either 1% or 5% level exception agrochemicals used. results further household educational level, farming experience, access extensions services off income generation major area. Findings this research work also mean 0.84 indicating are relatively efficient intercropping. therefore suggests intensive efforts expanding present scope intercropping, given for system.
