摘要: This paper presents an evaluation of the usefulness a participatory approach and adult learning principles for agroforestry extension in Philippines. Visual observations analysis interviews with farmers during program found that their ability to act as self-directed learners changed according situations which they were faced. Farmers used selection inputs establishment woodlots. However, when propagating seedlings, lack technical knowledge caused them shift state dependency on ‘top-down’ didactic instruction. Farmers’ familiarity agricultural crops, e.g. rice coconuts, did not provide skills raise tree seedlings. A consequence applying own interpretation woodlot procedures was some sites destroyed seedling growth other poor. These failed woodlots are likely present negative image future. Contributing influences farmers’ limited uptake technology may have been sources support information difficulty interacting sharing ideas peers. The practical implications this research developing countries education, services peer-to-peer interaction behave similarly developed countries. totally delivery maintain participants’ enthusiasm commitment but result unforseen outcomes. Hence, flexible use be necessary.
