摘要: In this paper, we propose a quality-centric congestion control for multimedia streaming over wired IP networks, which refer to as media-TCP-friendly (MTCC). Our solution adapts the sending rate both network condition and application characteristics by explicitly considering distortion impacts, delay deadlines, interdependencies of different video packet classes. The media-aware is able provide differential services transmitting various classes thereby, further improves quality compared conventional network-aware control. We use finite-horizon Markov decision process (FHMDP) determine optimal policy that maximizes long-term quality, while adhering horizon-K TCP-friendliness constraint, ensures fairness with existing TCP applications. Moreover, proposed MTCC achieve quality-based among users. derive sufficient conditions multiple users using Note only modifies adaptation mechanism window size at sender, without changing design receiver side (i.e., each current can correctly receive streams). simulation results show achieves more than 3 dB improvement in terms PSNR approaches, largest improvements observed real-time applications requiring stringent playback delays.
