Lutra lutra (Carnivora: Mustelidae)

摘要: Lutra lutra ([Linnaeus, 1758][1]), commonly known as the Eurasian otter, is most widely distributed of lutrinids (otters). L. primarily a piscivorous predator but also preys on amphibians, crustaceans, small mammals, birds, and reptiles. Extant populations this semiaquatic mustelid occur in wide variety aquatic freshwater marine habitats throughout Asia, all Europe, parts northern Africa. Despite large distribution, habitat loss has led to dwindling populations, particularly species currently listed “Near Threatened” by International Union for Conservation Nature Natural Resources.
