Nonoperative treatment of traumatic pancreatic duct disruption using an endoscopically placed stent.

摘要: Pancreatic injury accounts for only 2 to 12% of abdominal trauma. 1-4 The consequences ductal disruption, however, are substantial and cause significant morbidity mortality, 3-5 especially when delay in diagnosis has exceeded 6 hours. Difficulty diagnosing this potentially devastating led increased use endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) 7 . Although surgical intervention remains the mainstay therapy, advancements may allow alternative therapy selected cases, as demonstrated here.
