摘要: Body mass is rarely recorded in amphibians, and other body measurements (e.g. snout to vent length, SVL) are generally collected instead. However, length measurements, when used as proxies of comparative analyses, problematic if different taxa morphotypes included. We developed allometric relationships derive from SVL measurements. fitted phylogenetic generalized least square models for frogs (Anura) salamanders (Caudata) several families separately. tested whether differed between species with habitat preferences morphs salamanders. Models were SVL-mass 88 frog 42 salamander species. assessed the predictive performance by cross-validation. Overall, showed high explained variance low forecasting errors. among semi-aquatic, terrestrial arboreal frogs, paedomorphic non-paedomorphic estimates derived our allow comparability studies on multiple can be testing theories built upon evolutionary ecological processes which directly related mass.
