Voltammetric determination of carbon dioxide using dimethylsulfoxide as a solvent

摘要: Abstract A voltammetric method has been developed for the determination of dissolved carbon dioxide using dimethylsulfoxide as a solvent. Analytically useful reduction waves are obtained with either gold electrode or an amalgamated platinum electrode, but latter gives lower residual currents. The peak current is diffusion controlled and approximately linearly proportional to percentage by volume in gas mixtures used saturate electrolysis solution. In concentration range 1–30% volume, errors accuracy less than ± 2%.
