摘要: The authors report three cases of sarcomatoid carcinoma arising in the stomach. This uncommon tumor is characterized by a mixture malignant epithelial and spindle cell elements. All tumors were large (average diameter, 5 cm) infiltrated deep into stomach wall. Two had polypoid configuration; third was ulcerated endophytic. Intestinal metaplasia present adjacent to all cases, with dysplasia two. Immunohistochemical studies showed positivity for cytokeratin, carcinoembryonic antigen, membrane antigen component tumors, Leu-M1 positive one. components contained vimentin, 2, also desmin. focal cytokeratin cells immediately component. Ultrastructurally, two composed undifferentiated without specific or mesenchymal features. occasional features myofibroblasts.
