摘要: Porous polymeric membranes are used in numerous applications including water filtration systems. Fouling from proteins, toxins, bacteria, and cells present the limits membrane utility. Surface modification techniques that retain desired bulk properties while decreasing fouling can effectively extend lifetime. Herein, vapor plasmas utilized to create hydrophilic polysulfone ultrafiltration membranes. The permanency of treatment over two months correlates covalent incorporation functional groups into polymer backbone. Modified show enhanced hydrodynamic characteristics do not require preconditioning. Thus, plasma provides a potential route
