摘要: Background Theoretically, root resorption could be modulated by any medication taken that exhibits possible effects on the implicated molecular pathways. Objectives To systematically investigate and appraise quality of available evidence from animal studies, regarding effect commonly prescribed systemic associated with orthodontic tooth movement. Search methods without restrictions in eight databases (PubMed, Central, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, SCOPUS, Web Science, Arab World Research Source, ClinicalTrials.gov, ProQuest Dissertations Theses Global) hand searching until April 2018 took place. One author developed detailed search strategies for each database were based PubMed strategy adapted accordingly. Selection criteria Controlled studies investigating medications Data collection analysis Following study retrieval selection, relevant data extracted risk bias was assessed using SYRCLE's Risk Bias Tool. Results Twenty-one finally identified, most which at unclear bias. Root shown to increase Vitamin C treated animals comparison control group, whereas a comparative decrease noted after administration alendronate, ibuprofen, growth hormone, low doses meloxicam, simvastatin, lithium chloride strontium ranelate. No difference acetaminophen, aspirin, fluoxetine, atorvastatin, misoprostol, zoledronic acid zinc. Finally, inconsistent observed celecoxib, prednisolone L-thyroxine. The considered best as low. Conclusions pharmaceutical substances investigated exhibit variable resorption. Although overall provides clinician cautious perspective strength recommendations, good practice would suggest it is important identify patients consuming consider implications.
