摘要: The Gram-positive, rod-forming bacterium Bacillus subtilis efficiently binds and internalizes transforming DNA. localization of several competence proteins, required for DNA uptake, has been studied using fluorescence microscopy. At least three proteins (ComGA, ComFA, YwpH) are preferentially associated with the cell poles appear to colocalize. This association is dynamic; accumulate at as transformability develops then delocalize wanes. binding uptake also occur poles, shown fluorescent in single-molecule experiments laser tweezers. In addition prominent polar sites, localize foci lateral membrane, but this distribution does not exhibit same temporal changes accumulation. results suggest regulated assembly disassembly a DNA-uptake machine poles.
