摘要: Abstract Local digital image correlation is a popular method for accurate full field displacement measurements. However, the technique struggles at autonomously tracking emerging and propagating cracks. We proposed hybrid approach which utilizes processing techniques in combination with local to monitor cracks mechanically loaded specimen. Our can extract track crack surfaces provide volume-based visualization of growth. This was applied single-fiber composite experimental results interfacial debonding from literature. Results quantitatively show that strong fiber/matrix bonding leads slower growth, delays growth matrix, requires higher loadings shows specific path distinct one obtained weak interfaces. The also validated against manual where domain scientist extracts using polygon extraction tool. be used on any involving damage observations.
