A study of the distribution of boron sites in glassy B2O3 using 11B NMR

摘要: Abstract A study has been made of the 11 B NMR spectrum glassy 2 O 3 with aid computer-simulated spectra. It is shown that glass contains a distribution boron sites centered on an average or most probable site characterized by quadrupole coupling constant 2.66 MHz and electric field gradient asymmetry parameter 0.11. concluded alone cannot determine exact nature distribution. The implications data respect to suggested existence in distorted BO 4 “tetrahedra” discussed.
