B11 nuclear magnetic resonance studies of Li2OB2O3 glasses of high Li2O content

摘要: Abstract A B 11 NMR study has been made of lithium borate glasses spanning the composition region from 37.5–65 mol% Li 2 O. Values were obtained as a function R = O/mol% O 3 for fraction boron in BO 4 units ( N ), symmetric 3S ) which have either zero or three non-bridging oxygens (NBO's), and fractions with one 3A1 NBO's. structural model is presented 1 ⩽ 2.13 involves destruction metaborate loose added. This extends an earlier 0.5 involving diborate to form units. The data are generally good agreement predictions entire range (0 1.86) can be made.
