Ion permeability induction by the SH cross-linking reagents in rat liver mitochondria is inhibited by the free radical scavenger, butylhydroxytoluene.

摘要: The hydrophobic, potentially SH cross-linking reagent, phenylarsine oxide (PhAsO), was found to induce K+ and Ca2+ effluxes from mitochondria accelerate the respiration rate in state 4. hydrophobic monofunctional electrophilic agent,N-ethylmaleimide, does not exhibit this effect but prevents action of PhAsO. polar reagents (arsenite, diamide) ion fluxes only presence Pi. Ion induced by are inhibited butylhydroxytoluene (an inhibitor free radical reactions), andN,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, oligomycin. It is inferred that induction caused two juxtaposed groups related development reactions.
