摘要: Serum levels of alkaline phosphatase (AP) have been used in the clinical evaluation numerous diseases, including malignancies, for half a century. The aberrant expression AP genes cancer cells has led to suggestion that APs are oncofetal proteins and thus, could be involved tumorigenesis. Tumors which express these isozymes can broadly divided into two groups: (a) those with an enhanced production isozyme normally expressed tissue (eutopic expression) (b) showing one or more not identified normal (ectopic expression). Moreover, many tumors show simultaneous different isozymes. In absence known biological functions several mechanisms underlying their tumor explain findings. attempt clarify function APs, this laboratory is engaged study unique properties mammalian as possible clues function, i.e., phosphatidylinositol glycan attachment cytoplasmic membrane, uncompetitive inhibition (c) extracellular matrix binding domain APs. This also undertaking task targeting each mouse by homologous recombination generate models hypophosphatasia analyze detail vivo consequences deficiencies.
