Wind tunnel observations of aeolian transport rates

摘要: We have studied some of the causes discrepancies between transport rate formulae published in literature. The slow development equilibrium boundary layer over a rough bed with saltation may bias wind gradient measurements, especially short tunnels. Other be due to transient conditions caused by changes texture and grain size composition. Wind profile data show that aerodynamic roughness length z 0 = 0.022 u * 2/2g, which is friction velocity g gravity constant. This agrees well earlier findings, equation could an important tool validating tunnel data. Transport from Aarhus differ significantly Lettau Bagnold equations, but agree predictions new analytical model.
