摘要: East Asia is catching up with the rest of world in establishing regional trade arrangements (RTAs). This region responding to pressures from globalization, regionalism Americas and Europe, rise China India, improved political relations end Cold War, as well market-driven investment integration emergence production networks. ASEAN formed first RTA 1992, by turn decade, was signing or negotiating free agreements (FTAs) Japan, China, South Korea, Australia–New Zealand, European Union. It also entered into bilateral FTAs United States countries Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Asia. considering an Asian FTA. Can remain driver's seat be effective hub? The FTA proliferation has important consequences effects for trading system.
