摘要: Geotechnical downhole arrays that record seismic ground response in near-surface layers are increasingly becoming one of the best sources information for developing, verifying, and calibrating engineering analyses design methods. Recently, three geotechnical have been installed European side Istanbul, Turkey with efforts Kandilli Observatory Earthquake Research Institute (KOERI). The existing high activity region increases scientific importance these arrays. Each array is composed accelerometer on surface or four borehole accelerometers at various depths along soil profile deepest sensor located bedrock level (Vs > 750 m/s). also provide reference motion Rapid Response Network 55 instruments operated by KOERI west city. An important aspect this paper to introduce recently-completed test sites emphasizing their potential generate valuable data community. Preliminary analysis recorded provides evidence significant site amplification layers. Comparisons between modeled indicate Vs 30 alone a poor indicator site-specific predicting as opposed empirical approaches.
