摘要: Accurate prevalence data on heroin use, that points to where problems exist and the extent of these problems, is necessary guide formulation effective substance abuse policy practice. The purpose this study was provide surveillance information about nature use in South Africa. Data were collected from 41 specialist alcohol other drug treatment centres two metropolitan sites (Cape Town Gauteng Province) between January 1997 December 2003. Treatment indicators point a substantial increase over time. Most users tend be white, male, ages 21 24 years smoke rather than inject substance. However, profile changing.
