摘要: Light ion beam ICF is a concept in which intense beams of low atomic number ions would be used to drive targets ignition and gain. Three dimensional analytic approximations indicate that at least twelve required an indirect target with adequate symmetry. Here, results from two numerical simulations are presented describing the deposition symmetry aspects such for approximated as ring sources. For calculations, six sources pole during power `foot' pulse four main pulse. If each represents five individual beams, this corresponds 32 foot 20 beams The corresponding integrated LASNEX calculation, simulating input burn same code run, produced 591 MJ thermonuclear yield lithium containing total energy 16 MJ.
