摘要: Using degenerate primers designed from conserved cysteine-rich domains of gel-forming mucins, we cloned two new mouse mucin cDNAs. Blast searching showed that they belong to the same gene assigned chromosome 7 band F5. This is clustered with three secreted large mucins Muc2, Muc5ac, and Muc5b in a region exhibits synteny human 11p15. Computer analysis sequence alignments genes predict composed 33 exons spans 30 kb initiation ATG codon Stop codon. Sequence similarities, domain organization deduced peptide, expression allow us conclude this newly Muc6, i.e., ortholog MUC6. Like those their homologs, genomic order arrangement four within cluster are conserved.
