摘要: Abstract Can a single line describe tidal damping or amplification? Tidal and amplification in alluvial estuaries are constrained by an implicit feedback mechanism. The time lag ϵ between the occurrence of high water slack is crucial this regard. An analytical solution St. Venant equations appears to result surprisingly simple explicit relation for range, consisting exponential linear term. In estuaries, term dominant, particularly case amplification. only becomes important upper reaches estuary (preventing expression range from becoming negative). amplification, suppressed newly defined Froude Number which (as it contains sin ) tends zero when wave gets predominantly standing character. This negative prevents development exponentially increasing range. Finally, obtained very useful equation determine parameters that difficult direct observations, such as roughness mean depth.
