摘要: There is an increasing recognition that central aortic pressure more relevant than brachial measure for the prediction and pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease. Central influenced by phenomenon arterial wave reflections returning from peripheral vasculature, which can be quantified augmentation index. Accordingly, primary aim this study was to determine association between index blood pressures (BPs), recorded in both upper lower limbs. A total 833 apparently healthy adults varying ages were studied. All BP (brachial ankle, systolic, mean, diastolic pulse) measurements significantly associated with carotid Among them, ankle mean strongest correlate (r=0.51, P<0.0001). This relation remained highly significant even after influence potential confounders accounted partial correlation analyses. Stepwise regression analyses revealed independent predictor Ankle strongly BP, other measures BP).
