摘要: We have studied the effect of salmeterol on both P. aeruginosa interactions with mucosa nasal turbinate organ cultures and pyocyanin-induced (20 microg/ml) elastase-induced (100 damage to epithelial cells. Organ were exposed either by preincubation 4 x 10(-7) M for 30 min or pipetting 20 microl onto culture surface immediately prior bacterial inoculation. Infected (8 h) had significantly (p < = 0.01) increased damage, was predominantly associated damaged epithelium mucus. Salmeterol 0.02) reduced caused infection total number adherent bacteria 0.05), but distribution unchanged. Nasal cells incubated pyocyanin elastase 3 h 0.05) cytoplasmic blebbing mitochondrial versus control values. Elastase also cell projection level ciliation. Cells preincubated (2 M) showed a significant reduction in some features toxins, which inhibited beta2-adrenoceptor antagonist propranolol. Our results indicate that reduces aeruginosa-induced epithelium.
