摘要: The co-occurrence of epilepsy in people with intellectual disabilities (ID) and other developmental (DD) has received attention because it a significant negative impact on health, well-being, quality life. current research investigating the frequency form children ID DD is reviewed, particular paid to presenting coexisting autism spectrum disorder (ASD) deficit hyperactivity (ADHD). Complications assessment treatment arising from comorbidities are considered. most recent epidemiological survey demonstrates that approximately one-fourth patients childhood had ID. prevalence (including ADHD ASD) ranges 7.1% 32%, which exceeds general population. Multiple studies have suggested largely comorbid rather than cause effect already present before onset 80% these children. However, ASDs frequent known organic brain disorders, several causal relationships been speculated. Recent shown severity an important factor determining incidence complications those ASD, also ASD epilepsy. epilepsy, ID, appears common. might play key role increasing burden as well comorbidity. comorbidity reduce seizure threshold, resulting increase seizures epileptiform electroencephalographic abnormalities, although evidence limited further investigations warranted.
