摘要: PURPOSE Neuroprotectin D1 (NPD1) attenuates laser-induced choroidal neovascularization (CNV) when administered intraperitoneally. Due to its lipophilicity and low molecular weight, NPD1 is well suited for topical delivery; thus, we investigated the efficacy of topically applied in attenuating CNV. We also examined effect on recruitment activation microglia surrounding CNV lesions. METHODS Mice were given treated with eye drops. was evaluated by fluorescein leakage using a novel image analysis method isolectin B4 immunofluorescence neovasculature. Microglia; assessed quantification. Using form factor, solidity, convexity, fractal dimension, microglial quantitatively two-dimensional, first time, three-dimensional morphology. An ImageJ plugin, 3D Shape, developed enable this analysis. RESULTS attenuated neovascularization. The proximity lesions significantly closer NPD1. Consistent cellular ramification, NPD1-treated eyes larger exhibited lower factor higher dimension. CONCLUSIONS Our data show that signaling induces ramified, non-injury-inducing phenotype coincident attenuation Since are crucial participants neurodegenerative diseases, discovery potential targets warrants further investigation.
