Instability of the nonvortex state toward a quantized vortex in a Bose-Einstein condensate under external rotation

摘要: The instability condition of the non-vortex state toward vortex formation is exa mined within Bogoliubov theory when a Bose-Einstein condensate under exte rnally forced rotation. obtained critical angular velocity combined with previous stability cond itions for votex yields detailed phase diagram in vs t he system parameter. This facilitates experiments alkali atom gases confined harmonic potential.
