摘要: The term neurosteroids applies to those steroids that are both synthesized in the nervous system, either de novo from cholesterol or steroid hormone precursors, and accumulate system levels at least part independent of steroidogenic gland secretion rates. Glial cells play a major role neurosteroid formation metabolism. Several involved auto- paracrine mechanisms involving regulation target gene expression effects on membrane receptors (including neurotransmitters). neuromodulatory regulating estrous cycle pregnancy, stress, memory, developmental as well aging processes awaits further investigation.
