摘要: For a fish community to persist over time, all species must be able on average replace themselves one-for-one basis their lifetime. We use this principle and size-based equilibrium model where asymptotic length is used as functional trait investigate how natural mortality should scale with size within across pelagic demersal of North Sea teleosts. The predicts body raised power ?1.66 at current levels exploitation. Additionally, proportional 0.80, so generating higher given for large than small ones. also suggests that the exponent in scaling von Bertalanffy growth parameter K more negative species. test our results by analysing independent estimates predation mortality, maximum recruitment per unit spawning-stock biomass length, general relationship between families fish. All tests are consistent modelling results.
